SMS Guys Read 2.5

Hello Readers,

Have you missed us?  SMS Guys Read has been on a short hiatus as our school year reset and we got back in the swing of classes and actually getting out of bed in the AM.

We are back with a slightly different schedule and purpose this year.  First our illustrious leader, Rowdy Roddy, from here on know as Mr. H, is unable to meet weekly so we are now a typical monthly meeting club.  Second we are going to attempt to read the same books for once and comment and have discussion related to a single story.

leviathanleviathan 2

The novel we have decided to kick this new phase of SMS Guys Read is Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld.

We talked about the new genre of Steampunk last year and now we are very excited to get our hands on this exciting new series on October 6.

The next time we meet won't be until October 20, so we will have a few days to get the book read before our group meets again.

  1. I am not sure if I want to read this even though it is based on thefirst world war. I like sci-fi and pure fiction books not historical fiction which are usually wierd like Abraham Lincoln being cloned and made alive or the sheep cloning being made legal. If it already happen and this story was morphed then I don’t think that this story will be good.

  2. I can’t wait until leviathan comes out! In the mean time, i am going to watch a stitchpunk movie called 9. Imagine living rag dolls versus steam-powered leviathan style robots.

  3. I can’t wait until Leviathan comes out! It sounds like a good book, but the thing is, that I’m not that into wars, so there are going to be a lot of things that I don’t understand-but maybe it will be like the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series-it was after that I read the book that I was interested in Greek mythology. But it sounds like there are going to be a lot of wet chunky booms, and big clunky booms.
