We are currently in week two of our three-week Spring track out, SMS Guys Read will begin in earnest again the week of April 21, and I just sat down to tackle a track out assignment I had given myself…. Read The Phantom Tollbooth by Norman Juster.
At our last few meetings before track out we noticed that our IBRG friends were thinking about reading the Tollbooth and so we decided to jump on board and read along with them. Mr. S and the lads are planning some IBRG antics, so we need to start planning our responses and connections.
Your first assignment, and I know you might not see this whilst on track out as you might be out of town or much too glued to your Xbox, is to find a copy of The Phantom Tollbooth and get reading. The book was published in 1961 and is a classic, so the libraries around town will have numerous copies, as will any bookstore you darken the door of.
Your second assignment, and this goes for both SMS and TMC Guys Read members comes from the first lines of the Tollbooth. Here is the second line from the copy I am reading… “When he was in school he longed to be out, and when he was out he longed to be in.”
TMC…. you guys just got back from Spring Break, do you long to be out of school again?
SMS…. You are still a week and a half away from school restarting, do you long to be in school again?

I wish I was tracked out currently, because as you all know school isn’t a fun place. During Track out, you can do fun things like go outside and play with your friends, but while your in school you can’t do this things.

I really want to be out of school again for 2 reasons
To sleep until 12 o’clock and for zero homework!
“longed to be in school or not to be long in school” I would said ” i would kind of be like Milo cause i don’t no what i want do i want to be in school or track out when i am on track out i want to go back to school cause i miss my friends and teachers but when i am in class i want to be track out cause i am board (sometimes, but we have fun teachers tho) I guess the answer would be i longed to be track out cause i can still visit my friends in a park or at there or my house over track out. 🙂
I want to be out of school! No school=more video games
When I’m on trackout I love being able to sit around all day doing nothing but at the same time I miss some of my friends from school that I don’t get to see over trackout. While I’m in school I can’t wait till I can get home on the last day of school and finally just relax. These are my thoughts about being tracked in and tracked out of school.
That. Was. Me. last week, I (call me a nerd) was actually exited! About school! But now I’m sick of it! So… Confusing… Head… About to… Explo-SPLAT!
In because I sleep a lot better when I am in school and I get to see friend. And I get to have gym which is a lot more fun than working for my dad.
i want to be tracked out because i am a homebody. Also I like seeing my friends more and playing on my computer. At The same time everyone
would be stupid if it no one went to school. But I would like 2 more weeks off.
no i dont because on the first week we take 2 benchmark test OH YEAH (sarcasm) i would like to be out still also beacause i would still be in bed at 9:00 not 6:30
Well, you would think I would want to, but I enjoy spending every day with my friends. Oh, and doing guys read too.QA

I miss trackout, but i enjoy school mostly because I get to spend every day with my friends. But my head is exploding too.
